[TRIBAL GATHERING] Building a Virtual Tribe to Encourage Self-Care & Personal Well-Being
From joining Facebook groups of interest to discussing life events and issues with online friends to even extending those online friendships IRL, a virtual tribe can be great for your well-being! While certainly not a replacement for real-life relationships, a virtual tribe can provide huge amounts of support. Your tribe can be resourceful, a "shoulder" to lean on at any time of day, and can contribute diverse points of view. In essence, you can have a wonderful support system right at your fingertips! Moreover, as the leader of a virtual tribe, you have the ability to build and be the moderator of such a support system for others who need a virtual tribe.

[TRIBAL GATHERING] Caribfluencers - Content.Culture.Commerce
When people think of the Caribbean they think lush beaches, drinks with umbrellas and “no worries mon.” Tell your friends you’re visiting Jamaica and they’ll either fawn in excitement or warn you of how dangerous it is.

Often, many people visit without consideration of the rich and vibrant culture that happens amongst the people. The developments of entrepreneurship, entertainment and social issues that arise and how the Caribbean diaspora impacts the trends that arise from the region.

The panel is made up of various content creators from fashion, music, career, entrepreneurship and personal finance, but the common thread is the Caribbean cultural similarities. We’ll primarily discuss how we used our niche culture to build our separate brands and how we’ve been able to support each other in building a strong content creator community.

A panel discussion the dissects the following:
-Inspirational trends vs. cultural appropriation, how we utilize culture to educate the mass
-How cultivating relationship centered in cultural connections foster a sense of community
-How we remain authentic to our audiences as we grow
-How our business models are different because the consumers are different
-Building your readership, earning money while remaining authentic

[TRIBAL GATHERING] Using Facebook LIVE to Grow and Nurture Your Tribe

Let’s be honest: How many times have your garnered up just enough courage to go LIVE on Facebook, only to cancel at the last minute? How about, when you think about going live, you worry that no one will show up? These are all self-defeating thoughts. This was my story. I was afraid of live video. I will help you overcome the fear of going LIVE in order to build your community and to #TribeUp.

I will share how I went from going LIVE sporadically to going LIVE for 30 days straight and with over 35 guests. I will also share how this experience grew into a book and a weekly online tv show.

Blogalicious tribe members will learn how to use FB Live to:

  • Create a Movement around their subject matter (ex. travel club, etc.)

  • Increase engagement of viewers in the conversation

  • Convince viewers to add their friends and followers to your FB Live

  • Encourage viewers to  join their FB group, email list

  • Turn your videos into marketing tools, etc.

We will have a discussion around how to solicit help from Tribal BFFs who help you stay accountable to obtain your goal, more tribe members.

[TRIBAL GATHERING] Don't Kill Our Vibe: Have Crucial Conversations when the Stakes are High
Nothing kills the vibe of a tribe faster than negative, divisive behavior. Often times tribe leaders will simply delete the offender and remind the tribe of the rules. Unfortunately, this can have an adverse impact on the group dynamics and individual relationships. For relationships to thrive, clear, honest communication must take place.

In this highly interactive session I will walk participants through the process of identifying engagements that threaten the vibe of the tribe and how to structure a conversation that ends in a win-win solution.
I will also walk them through how to train other admins in their groups to facilitate productive conversations when disagreements occur.

[TRIBAL GATHERING] How to Create the Perfect Tribe-cation

How to Create the Perfect Tribe-cation -- As a certified travel agent and travelpreneur, I've been able to create travel experiences for my tribe as way to connect others to culture, history and leisure. There's so much buzz around travel and communities of color and and even with the countless options online, folks still want to work with travel agents. Planning a group trip can be seem challenging, but with a little organization and enthusiasm, influencers can create memorable experiences for their awesome tribes!  Using my group experiences to Greece and upcoming trips to Dubai and South Africa, I will outline how to design the perfect tribe-cation. We'll talk about collecting information, creating private Facebook groups for communication, do's and dont's, dealing with different personalities on a group trip and identifying the group leader. This would also be a fun time to exchange travel experiences -- the joys and the horrors -- and discuss how I've channeled those experiences into dynamic blog posts and/or social media experiences.

[Tribal Gathering] Where the Magic Happens: The Intersection of Online and IRL Relationships is Lit!
Whether building your brand or a tribe of like-minded souls, to be successful we MUST come from behind the comfort of our laptops and devices, put on some pants (or a cute skirt) and get out there and connect in real life! And, if we’re already attending conferences and networking like crazy, then we also need to leverage technology to foster and fully develop those connections, and there’s no better way to do that than through online platforms.

The bottom line: Creating and nurturing relationships is not an online OR offline proposition, rather it is both and that’s exactly where this session begins.

Participants will walk away with concrete steps to build lasting connections, whether they begin online and continue offline or vice versa. This includes identifying which of the myriad platforms and social networks and conferences are best FOR YOU to be seen, get found and find your tribe.

There’s a not-so-old adage: Hustle until you no longer have to introduce yourself. Michelle has built strong relationships that have led to income, opportunities, and honestly, a really cool network of awesome folks! Join her for this dynamic-interactive session and learn how to build a strong network of your own--pants optional.
